We looked into building our custom dream home with several different builders and decided to go with Thoroughbred. That was the best decision we made! They were amazing from beginning to end. They always kept us informed of what was happening, of next steps, and they completed our home in the time we were told (which is a big deal these days with builders). Their quality of work and attention to detail is far above any builder I have worked with. They are honest and upfront and deliver an incredible home. I would recommend them over and over again!

We must, by way of relief and gratitude, begin this review of Thoroughbred Custom Homes with the highest regard and highest recommendation! I first would like to start by commending TCH on their utmost honesty, high integrity, and professionalism through and through. After critically and extensively researching several other “custom home builders” in the DFW area, i can confidently say that none of them hold a candle next to Thoroughbred. Thoroughbred created a masterpiece of a home that far exceeded our already very high expectations. The quality and scale of our home is stellar- they do not take shortcuts. The materials thoroughbred used to construct the shell of our home, as their standard, typically would cost tens of thousands to upgrade to through other home builders. They truly are not bluffing when they say high quality is their standard, this company sets the bar extraordinarily high.
Harris and Evan are exceptional construction managers. They both went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, to ensure to job site was clean each and every day, and most importantly that the jobs were being done right. They kept us informed at all times and made sure jobs were getting done on schedule day in and day out. They were very transparent about costs, and they made the process so easy with the BuilderTREND app. Unlike our experience with other large scale home builders, we were never once blind sided or price gouged when it came to choosing interior finishes. In fact, because of our experiences with other home builders in the area, i can also confidently say that thoroughbred has the most generous allowances when selecting finishes. As someone who is passionate about design- this is where it hit a home run for me. Gina, who leads the design aspect of construction was an absolute pleasure to work with! Gina has excellent taste, class, and vision. She helped guide me through to make the right choices, in addition to steering me away from what could be a bad choice by considering the dynamics of our life…(kids, dogs, etc.) She truly pulled everything together seamlessly without me ever feeling overwhelmed, and i never want to design another house without her!
All of this leads me to say that although Thoroughbred Custom Homes is a newer builder to the North Dallas area- they are exactly what this area has been missing. You can find a home builder just about anywhere in Dallas- but you won’t find a top of the line, best of the best builder like Thoroughbred.

The best praise I can give Thoroughbred Custom Homes is that my husband and I have both said if we EVER build another home it will ONLY be with Thoroughbred. Period.
Thoroughbred was building a few lots in our neighborhood after we moved in, and we reached out to Evan about building a separate garage and storage space for us.
From that moment on, we received amazing communication, excellent service and a fantastic end product.
They listened to our idea and came up with the perfect design including things we didn’t even think about.
In a time when labor issues and material delays were hitting ALL industries, Evan and Harris stayed on top of everything ensuring the timeline was not only met but that our garage was finished early. If anything was remotely delayed, they communicated well and made up for the time with their fantastic project management.
They were onsite at all major milestones – which considering the pace of our project, was pretty much every single day. They ensured the site was kept contained, immaculate and safe.
We wanted to make an adjustment in the middle of the build due to a preferred visual aesthetic (adding an awning over the garage door to match our house). Although I told them I would never tell anyone *exactly* how quickly they made it happen (you know, so as to not set a precedent!), they deserve So. Much. Praise. They called me the same day I reached out and had the awning designed, quoted, scheduled and COMPLETED as if I ordered it on Amazon Prime! Literally.
We’ve had everything from mediocre to horrible experiences with contractors. From us having to be our own GC – catching issues or things missed to us being on the verge of contacting a lawyer because of irreparable mistakes and a contract not fulfilled. But with Thoroughbred, we honestly cannot say one bad or even mediocre thing about them. There were ZERO issues. NOTHING was missed. And they went above and beyond to build a high-quality product, completely exceeding our expectations.
They are professionals who care and communicate extremely well. And there is absolutely nothing else that we could ask for when building a house or addition.
My only regret is that we didn’t find them sooner to contract with them to build our entire house.
